For those customers who have alpha pagers and cell phones, we encourage you to change your message delivery from Alpha page to cell phone using SMS messaging (texting). Here are a few benefits of SMS messaging to consider:
1. Once the messages are migrated to the cell phones, the alpha pagers and monthly fees can be cancelled.
2. The message delivery time is decreased from 45 seconds to 5 seconds.
3. The SMS text messages allow you to reply back to Abbott Answering with a SMS message with further instructions or acknowledging a message with an ETA. This eliminates a call back to Abbott Answering when it may not be possible.
